Window Restoration Underway
Window restoration is in full gear!
As we push ahead into the unpredictable New England winter months, the first few batches of Hubbard Hall windows have arrived. The process will take a few months to complete, but all 200 historic windows will be fully restored and upgraded to modern energy efficiency standards.
Working painstakingly with the National Park Service to preserve the historic character, while remain fully operational and achieve high energy efficiency ratings, the Hubbard Hall windows will each have the original wood sash and historic charm, but include new double pane thermal glass for ultimate comfort in all weather extremes.
Above are a few pictures of the first installations, looking up from Round Hill Road, and down from the Mabel Apartment on Hubbard Hall’s top floor.
